Lovely room - very comfortable! Only thing I would say is that the water in the shower was boiling hot! And we couldn’t change the temperature. It wasn’t an issue though because we were out early.

I would recommend this friendly hotel with its clean and comfortable rooms. Everything was done to make sure my stay worked for me.The breakfast was a little disappointing for the money - not great coffee and cheap sliced bread, for example, but this would not stop me using this hotel a I maybe would just choose the non-breakfast option.

Housekeeper and manager were nice. I didn’t try breakfast; so can’t comment on that. It’s easily accessible to everything I needed in Wimbledon with hood restaurants around. It’s an old-world experience, though. Tall ceilings, pretty old trim and woodwork. But, it comes with the creakier floors and thinner walls of an old building. Clean, with all the basics you need, but you need to be comfortable in an older, Victorian era, space. As it happens, I am.

Was pleased to find this hotel for the Easter weekend. My child and myself spent a couple of nights here in a family room. This room had one double bed and one single with ample storage space for clothes, if needed. We found it to be clean with comfortable beds with enough space between them. We were able to relax and watch some television when we got back and take advantage of the tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We both had lovely warm showers in a fairly large shower cubicle. It was ever so convenient as it only took us approximately ten to fifteen minutes to walk to Wimbledon underground/ station so very pleased with location. We can’t comment on the breakfast as we never sampled it. We had to leave too early and I believe it is served later at weekends. We also didn’t see any hotel staff or anyone for the whole stay but Jay seemed very friendly when speaking to him on the phone on arrival and gaining access to our room went without any hitches.Overall my daughter and myself enjoyed our experience. Thank you.

Not bad value for money as London goes. Reasonably near to public transport, shops and restaurants. The room door locks need maintenance as do the shower doors. A ceramic soap dispenser in a shower is a bad idea.

Overall a pretty nice small hotel, room was clean and staff was friendly. Although our room wasn't ready upon arrival, we were glad that we could already place our bags in the room. What we didn't like was the permanent light on the floor outside. Because the door has a slight gap, the light was always visible in the room and it was never really dark in our room.

The hotel was easy to find from the train station and less than 25 min walk to Wimbledon tennis courts. The room was lovely, well maintained, clean and with a nice en suite. This was our first visit to The Wimbledon Hotel. We were in Wimbledon for the tennis and the hotel is very well located. We arrived early and Jay kindly allowed us to drop off our bag and gave us the room key as we were going to be in a bit late that evening. The room was comfortable with an en-suite shower room which was small but well-appointed. The bed was comfortable. We left the window open that evening as the weather was quite warm. The next day Jay allowed us to leave our bag and we collected after tennis on the way back home. Many thanks for all your help Jay - we enjoyed our stay with you.

We have used this hotel before, as it is very conveniently located for us to see my son, daughter in law and granddaughter. It’s a “ no frills” hotel, but perfectly adequate for our needs. The room was clean and comfortable, and although the heating didn’t seem to work, there was a portable radiator which was sufficient. The room wasn’t cleaned after our first night, and I assume that this is due to Covid. There was a message to leave our towels on the towel rail if we didn’t need them changed , but we didn’t have a towel rail and therefore had damp towels on our second morning! I was also a bit concerned how slow the water was to drain from the shower tray. If I had been in the shower much longer, I would have flooded the bathroom. Despite these minor points, we enjoyed our stay, the cost to stay over a weekend was reasonable, and we would certainly stay again.

Great location near to Wimbledon centre. Room was was a good size and very clean. On suite shower and toilet again very clean. Excellent value for money. After 19:30 no reception so just have to call mobile to be let into property and keys to room were on the side. Very easy; would definitely recommend; will be using again. M.Dalton.

Great location, facilities are a little basic (fridge in the room would have been nice), clean and comfortable. It was very cold the first night but that may have been a heating issue and was resolve the 2nd night and a heater was also then provided.

The room was very good, clean, wide enough. Plenty of surfaces open bags and suitcases. The staff was very kind, specially the lady that opened the door at evening. Breakfast starts at 7:30, too late if you have school or working commitments. Breakfas also too small and very little options.

A very pleasant stay, a comfortable room and bed, and a great breakfastWith this latter I had the option of having it or not, which was most welcome as I didn't want one on the first morning (I needed to leave space for a large lunch) but very much did on the second morning, before travelling home. The hotel's location was also very central and convenient, and it was good value.Minor irritations were the sloping ceiling in the bathroom, making it difficult to stand close to the toilet bowl, and the seeming impossibility of getting the temperature eight in the shower.

We really believe we made the right choice to stay at The Wimbledon Hotel. When we arrived, a very friendly staff who was cleaning met us at the door and gave us the keys, brought us to our room and helped me with the parking. The bedroom was clean and the windows are double glazed so we didn’t hear a thing coming from outside. The shower was really good and hot drinks were available in the room. Even though hotel had other guests it was very quiet and calm. We had a good night of sleep! Nothing to complaint really.

The maintenance of the room could be improved by taking more care of the small annoying details that are not (anymore) acceptable and can be easily controlled and repaired:-The only window in the room was stuck and very difficult to open because of a broken mechanism. This was reported but nothing was done during our stay.-Toilet seat not fixed properly.-Bathroom door sill strip out of order and no longer fixed properly to the floor.-Silicone seal to be replaced on bathroom sink.-Lack of wall socket to connect bedside lamp.- No light in hallway and no wall socket.- No towel rail to hang towels on.- No shelf for toilet accessories in the bathroom.- The paintwork is old and in need of renovation.- No mirror above the sinkStaff at the establishment are charming and dedicated.Good price obtained for 11 night stay in double room.Overall happy, good family atmosphere.

We had a lovely stay at this guest house for a weekend get away. The bed was comfortable and the room was well presented, and well stocked with clean towels, extra pillows and blankets, hairdryer and an iron! We booked this room for a visit to Wimbledon. It was a 10 minute walk to the 'Village' where there were a number of shops, pubs and restaurants which was very convenient and a further 15 minute walk to the All England Club.We found this very agreeable. The price was not exactly cheap and there was no reception when we arrived at 6.30pm but we had a phone contact who let us in remotely and directed us to our room. The room was much more basic and small than it appeared on the website but it served our purposes and the main thing that we found that made up for it, was that there was free parking.Plus, the hotel allowed us to keep the car in the car park after we had checked out and were watching the tennis.

The room I stayed in was very shabby and lots of things broken and worn out, shower was terrible, I was looking forward to a nice hot shower but after running it for half an hour there still was no hot water! Cupboard door hanging off, wardrobe door you could hardly move, iron but no ironing board, lampshade all worn out and split, other lamp when touched it flickered, shower no hot water, plastic hanging off bottom of shower, bed linen smelt musty. It really does need a make over, it was not a cheap stay and I expected it to be a lot better.

Lovely and quiet hotel. On arrival we were mistakenly given a room for 2 instead of 3, but the problem was quickly resolved by Jay. Overall good experience. The only thing that isn’t great is the fact they advertise there is a free parking at the back, however, there are only 3-4 spaces and it was constantly full so we couldn’t park there.

Overall our appreciation is good.Friendly management and staff. Room and bath room were clean. Breakfast was fine. Free car park was much appreciated (and was the main reason for the choice of the hotel). Some remarks to consider: Need to climb steep and narrow stairs should be made clear as some guests may be unable to reach the rooms. Fire escape procedures may not be adequate and, if not recently carried out, a safety inspection is recommended.Regards, M. Huguet

I had an exam early next day. Also I didn’t know that breakfast starts at 8:30 am and I had an exam earlier in the day. So it would have been better to be notified about that before booking not when I’m checking in. Still waiting for the refund.

The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the breakfast was freshly made upon request which is an added value in our days. The only suggest I would give is to plan a refresh of the rooms, especially the wall paper and some furniture. The room was in general clean but a bit more could have been done on the blind spots. I would recently recommend this Hotel.

The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The owner and staff were hugely friendly and helpful.Breakfast was yummy and there was ample supplies of tea etc in the rooms.I was given a downstairs room for my mother to avoid her having to climb stairs. The hotel let us leave the car in their carpark while we went to Wimbledon without charge.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone

The hotel provided fairly basic but good and clean accommodation with friendly helpful staff. The temperature of the shower waterin our room was difficult to control and the shower drain seemed a little blocked as water quickly filled the shower tray. The cost of the accommodation was high but I assume this was due to the huge demand for hotel rooms during Wimbledon fortnight.

I found it quite ridiculous that there is a sign above the entrance saying it was an "elegant, boutique"....it is not. The hotel was clean, but far from elegant. The room we had was small (to the point where you cant open the bathroom door fully). It was extremely warm (no air con) and with the windows open the road noise at night was terrible. The shower did not drain and overflows. On the whole it was disappointing.

Whilst the owner was very helpful about check in and check out we were disappointed in the hotel generally. Rooms were not well cleaned- hairs in shower unused by us! Room uncomfortably hot despite addition of a fan. Bed had a plastic sheet under the sheet and pillows like concrete. Very poor value!

After an absence of some time I returned to Wimbledon for a short visit.Fortunate to find accommodation again in The Wimbledon Hotel June 2018.As with my previous visits pre 2018 I found both the management and staff very helpful and friendly. No problems regarding the facilities nor the booking. The breakfast at a daily cost of £7.50 is very good value and I look forward to a return visit which I hope will be later this year.

Our recent stay at the Wimbledon is one that would be memorable for for a very long time. During our planning for our London leasure travel this year, we were hesitant of placing a reservation on out of the mainstreet premises; particularly, any of the English B&Bs that are unfamiliar. The Wimbleton Hotel was introduced to us by our son who lived who live in London for a couple years. What he said about the Wimbledon turned out to be so; and more. Property was great, clean and welcoming. We were never guests but family. Staff was great, very friendly, and responsive in every possible way. They made our stay worth every dollar we put in it.Thank you,J & L, Maryland, USA

We felt that this hotel lacked in overall cleanliness, the decor was tired and in need of updating or at least the wallpaper glued back to the wall at the corners. Our room had clearly not been cleaned thoroughly, as there we reminders of guests from the past behind the dressing table.More attention should be paid in future.£150 for the room for one night was a little steep, but served a purpose.

This is a sweet hotel quite close to the goings-on in Wimbledon. A nice home-cooked breakfast, and the staff is very welcoming. My room was very small but with updated bathroom. Could use some painting and new blanket to refresh the look and feel.

Having stayed at the Wimbledon Hotel before I was disappointed this time. Arriving just before 2pm the room was not ready. I had to ask for a hanger to hang up a shirt and the wardrobe was shabby with back wall maked and scuffed. When I returned later in the evening the bed had been poorly made (loose base sheet)and towels (although clean) were frayed. Breakfast is not served until 8.30 on Saturday morning which is inconveneint if you have early meetings in central London. Dining room is bright and staff friendly but overall it was a disappointing stay for over £80.

The room itself was ok, but a lack of available sockets made it inconvenient, but not impossible, for charging electrical items. It is within easy reach of shops and restaurants, about a 10 -15 minute walk, but its more of a 30 minute walk for the tennis! The cleanliness is good, the shower in my room was good also.

I received a polite, friendly welcome, and was directed to a comfortable quiet room with all the facilities I needed. Although the room was dated, the shower facilities were new and very effective. Breakfast staff were friendly and efficient. Jay, the manager was friendly and helpful. I'd go back again if I required good value accommodation in Wimbledon.

Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, nice breakfast prepared fresh from order previous night. No evening reception, so remember to take your master key out with you. Despite secondary glazing, Worple Road very noisy all night, so avoid front bedrooms. Louvres on windows did not work and curtains did not keep room dark in the morning. Stair carpet did not look very clean and front entrance and foyer could do with a more modern look. Car parking at rear very helpful as parking nearby very difficult.

The room didn't merit the amount I paid for it. I paid nearly £100 (inc breakfast) for a dingy room. Also, I arrived late but key was left for me, got myself into my room and found it cold, although I discovered how to turn on the heating. It is not an hotel:there was no-one as Reception when I arrived and no-one there when I left (expected in an hotel). Why is it described as an hotel? It is really a B&B but I see today that this description doesn't appear to exist.Good location and delicious breakfast.

I chose this place because I enjoyed its location and the friendly faces of owner and staff during a previous visit. Nice old building, well thought-of interior - each room is a small "bijou" - good public transport nearby. No noisy neighbourhood!

The hotel was in a great location close to the theatre and town. Took us about 15 minutes to walk into town.Hotel was clean with friendly staff. The manager Jay was friendly and very welcoming. We were slightly disappointed with being on the ground level, we were in room 1 right by the front door and restaurant, we was disturb in the morning by new arrivals and also guest coming in for breakfast. Apart from that it was a lovely hotel and we would stay again!
Response
Hello Claire,Thank you for your kind words, i am really sorry that you were disturbed in the morning, and apologise for this inconvenience.IF you visit us again, please mention you do not require a ground floor room. Best Wishes Jay

With my family, I spent nine nights in the Wimbledon Hotel. The hotel location is convenient with a bus stop in front and less than 10 minute walk to Wimbledon station. Actually, we also rent a car to travel Bath, Winsor, Oxford and other towns near London, parking is free in this hotel (as you may know parking is very expensive in London). Breakfast has many options and food is very fresh. The staff is hospitable and friendly. It’s a nice choice to stay in this hotel when have a trip in London.

This was another pleasant stay where I was again made welcome, the accommodation and facilities again meeting all my needs.Although the furniture in the bedroom was not modern it provided all necessary storage space. The bed was very comfortable and the shower efficient. The room was clean and well serviced throughout my visit.I again enjoyed my breakfasts, very economically priced in the bright and attractive breakfast room, being served promptly and cheerfully by Cathy (Kathy?).The hotel location was ideal, being close to the centre of Wimbledon and public transport facilities. As usual the booking arrangements with Jay were straightforward.I look forward to visiting again.David

I couldn't fault this gem of a hotel Tastefully decorated with up to the minute and clean facilities as well as being central to all amenities. Delicious breakfast that was cooked to perfection all freshly made and well presented with no problems to substituting certain items, with free flowing orange juice and teas and coffee. Welcomed by Jay and his staff an experience definitely to be repeated with no hesitation :)

I stayed at The Wimbledon Hotel for one night. It is a simple but cosy and lovely little place offering great on order breakfast. It is reasonably priced. Only be aware that there is 0.6 to walk to Wimbledon train station.

Hotel situated in a great place, easy walking distance to Wimbledon station. The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of tea and coffee available. The rooms were very warm in the Summer but fans were available which helped. The door handle in one of the rooms had come off and needs replacement as otherwise at risk of being locked in!

Arrived mid afternoon. Was greeted well. Guest House was clean. Room was small but warm. En-suite also small but clean. Guest House is in need ofrefurbishment carpets had seen better days and furniture was utilitarian, but was fine for my one night stay. Breakfast was excellent I had full English but crockery could do with replacing as breakfast plate was chipped and small milk jug also chipped. Lady that served breakfast was charming as was Manager. Guest House is in good locationas close to train station and shops. My roomin Guest House was quier. Iwould stay there again.

It wouldn't take much to turn this into a fab hotel. The staff are lovely, the breakfast great and the parking a very big plus. The fixtures and fittings in our room however were poor, for example, one accessible plug, draw knobs missing, blocked shower head, loose loo paper holder. It gave an overall tired and shabby effect. However its proximity to the town, village and family outway this for us. We intend to return in the near future.

I was attracted by the preamble about the Hotel and must admit I was very disappointed on entering. The decor was not 'Boutique'; the paintwork was scuffed; my single room was tiny and was far from 'Boutique' and neither was it fragranced with pure essential oils. However, it was clean and lovely and warm; the shower and bathroom were modern; and Jay was kind to me when I had problems with my car. It was an ideal locationfor all I had to do over 4 days and the car parking was a great asset.

The staff were friendly and sharing breakfast with the other guests of a morning was a nice change. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the Wimbledon shopping area and train station and quite even though it is located on a road that is busy in the morning and evening.

Very comfortable rooms. I missed the fragrance of essential oils though. Fairly central, about 15min walk to the tube. My only negative was the traffic which was 24hour. Jay was an excellent host.

The hotel was welcoming and helpful with directions to parking space and rooms etc.Ours was an overnight stay having attended the Rugby World Cup so only sleeping for one night and breakfast was required. Our room (3) was warm, clean and comfortable with all our necessary needs provided for.A suggestion for improvement might be a catch on the bathroom door and a new sink plug hole! The dining room was lovely as was the breakfast which was nicely presented and cooked. A delightful young lady ensured that we had everything we needed.

A friendly guest house located conveniently between Ranyes Park and Wimbledon town centre at affordable prices. Friendly manager as well as staff. Excellent English breakfast. The drawback is lack of a common room or reception area where guests can meet visitors. The toilet flush is not powerful enough. What is worse, there were two days when the hot water tap did not flow. Nonetheless, it is pleasant to stay.

Researching the area left us with only 2 viable options in this area. We chose the Wimbledon as it said all rooms had been recently refurbished and we were not disappointed. Our room was spacious and the Moroccan themed decoration was quirky but not overdone. We did think £100 per night without breakfast was a little excessive even by London standards but the area has few hotels so we were obliged to pay. We would stay there again as it was within walking distance of Rayne's Park where our daughter now lives but it is a bus ride from Wimbledon for those who wish to use it as a base to travel in that direction.

Very pleasant hotel to stay with everything could need in the room for a comfortable stay. Easy to walk in to Wimbledon for places to eat and drink and a central location or ease of access with the tube. Would certainly recommend as a very good place to saty in London. A change from the standard "chain-store" type hotels! Neat little place run by friendly people. Stylish interior (I had the Morocco Room). Excellent bed, always a supply of bisquits alongside tea and coffee.Good location, next to bus stop and a quarter of an hour walk to Wimbledon Station.Downside: Traffic noise despite double glazing.

This was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay in early September 2014 and I hope I can return in the future. My initial phone call regarding room availability, the subsequent booking and checking in/out were straightforward and I was made welcome by Jay.Although I would have preferred more room and storage space this was only a passing thought, and not a problem. The room was bright and cheerful with compact en suite bathroom facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast room is a very attractive setting. The breakfast ordering form for completion on arrival is a good, practical idea. The English breakfast is good value and Sandra had a cheerful greeting for me each morning.

Stayed with the Wimbledon Hotel on a business visit to central London. The room was very good - better than expected. I arrived quite late and as this is a private hotel then reception isn't 24hrs, but that presented no problem. There is a system of remote access which works fine.WiFi worked with no problems. There is a small car park which is very useful for any stay in London.Wimbledon railway station is 10 minutes walk - very regular and quick trains into Waterloo or onto the District Line.Jay is very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be staying again.

Excluding when I was asleep, I only actually spent about 30 minutes at the hotel during a one-night stay, so really not a lot to say. However, this was my second visit and I've had no cause for complaint on either occasion, thus no reason not to award 5 stars. The location is reasonably pleasant and convenient - about 5 mins walk from Wimbledon Station.

The Wimbledon Hotel was a great home away from home during my recent visit to London. The room was exactly as pictured on the internet - so no nasty suprises! It was situatied very well within a 5 minute walk to the station - and a bus right outside for when the weather wasn't great. I would happily book the hotel again - the only difference being that next time i would ask for a room on the lower floors to avoid having to carry luggage up too many flights! Thanks for a comfortable stay!

I live abroad and often stay at this hotel during my visits to the UK. It is about 20 minutes walk into the town centre, but ideal if you have a car as the hotel has a car park and the location is quieter than in the town. The rooms are mostly on the small side, but comfortable and clean. The breakfast is also good.

More of a B&B but pleasant. Had a double exec room which was a good size, clean and well maintained. Unfortunately it was a very hot and humid day so had the windows open. This meant that the road noise was a bit intrusive but this isn't the hotels fault. Check in was pleasant and it was handy having parking spaces at the back of the hotel local parking bays were for residents only. I would stay again.

Breakfast was very good, served hot by a caring, polite waitress.

Enjoyable stay and comfortable beds. Although the rooms were decorated well, there were many areas that were tired, mould around the window frames, cracked and missing paint on window sills, valences were dirty and tired areas in the bathroom that needed maintenance. Why was there an odd black sock sitting in the plant pot outside the front door? A closer inspection on cleaning and maintenance is needed. We would stay again and were treated very well. Many thanks.

Nice staff, adequate small double room with very good shower, breakfast ok. Disturbed night sleep due to rowdy guests coming back late and loud..of course not the fault of the hotel, but no onsite staff to rely on.

Having stayed at this hotel a few times previously I was aware of what I was expecting and I was not disappointed. As always, the hotel owner and other staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. Breakfast was excellent on both days. Room was spacious as was the bathroom. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be within easy reach of London(bus stop directly opposite which has buses to the station, both mainline and underground),but doesn't want to stay in London itself.

I didn't like the fact that we couldn't lock the door inside...only yale lock. We were able to leave our bags early. Breakfast was delicious, but started a bit late for a 9am start. We would stay here again. Thanks. Ray and Karen.

This hotel has been welcoming and helpful to me in difficult circumstances. The rooms have been spotless and comfortable. There are the essentialitems immediately to hand, hair dryer, kettle iron etcetera. My only reservation is that the pillows are too thick for my personal taste, they are also hard and have no give whatsoever. The extra finishing touches to the decor are attractive, charming and quirky.

Situated close to Wimbledon town centre and trains, the hotel was perfectly suited to our needs, even walking back to it at midnight we felt safe and secure. The room was on the top floor and was decorated to a nice "boutique" style, proudly presented by the owner - although he didn't come up thefive flights of stairs! The stay was very pleasant and all the facilities worked well, just a shame the curtains were an afterthought and were about 4" too short for the window. My wife and I would certainly go back there again.Happy traveller.

The only drawback we found was the noise of guests going up and down the stairs. This is more a B&B than a hotel as the name suggests but well worth a visit

Thought I had booked a family room as we were travelling with my 9 year old son, but somehow only managed to book a double. Contacted hotel and they arranged to put an extra bed in for him, and it was all made up on our arrival. Room small with 3 of us but comfortable and good facilities. My son loved the very small bathroom in a cupboard! Only down side was it was hot and we could not open the windows, however a fan was provided which helped a bit. Breakfast was lovely - had to order on a form the night before and it was all freshly cooked and waitress very cheerful and friendly. Convenient location to walk into Wimbledon, or on bus route if you don't want to walk. A very pleasant stay, and reasonable by London standards.

I personally do not like staying in clone Hotels. That's why I really enjoyed staying at this Hotel, which is run a little more on the lines of a B&B. Jay the owner was really nice and so were the two ladies who ran the kitchen and dinning room. They were really sweet.

Hotel well situated for both Wimbledon town centre, Wimbledon village and the All England Club although it should be noted that the latter two are a 15/20 minute walk uphill. The rooms are small and access is a little restricted with suitcases but the rooms are clean and well kept and the en-suite bathrooms modern. There is off road parking which is somewhat tight.

Just 10 mins walk from Wimbledon station, very convenient if you're here for the Tennis Championships. We stayed in room 1 downstairs at the front. Quiet even though facing the main road. No a/c but a fan ensured a reasonably cool room. Bed was comfy - could do with more than just the two pillows provided (we got there after reception had closed so couldn't ask for extra). We didn't have breakfast (£7.50) but the dining room looked pleasant.Bathroom was clean and had new fittings- water pressure was too low for a good shower.Room could be great but furnished cheaply- no pictures, sliding mirrored door to bathroom. If the owner wants this to really resemble a 'boutique' hotel, then more needs to be spent on soft furnishings and decor. As it is, it's a very convenient b&b.

This hotel isn`t like a grand swanky chain, nor would I call it `boutique`(a few quirky/luxury loving touches to the decor could elevate it thus), but if you like small independant hotels you`l find this a good example. Comparing different prices for hotels in the area, we were pleased with the cleanliness of the room, the spa-like shower and the continental breakfast which was freshly prepared by a very charming chef. Also walking distance from Wimbledon common which is a lovely location for a Sunday afternoon stroll.

Our stay was comfortable at the Wimbledon Hotel. As I was only staying in my room for one night I can only say that the room was of reasonable standard. It was ok for our brief stay but for longer I would have picked out small things such as no cold water ( the cold tap produced very warm water) and two lights had broken in the bathroom making it a very dark room as it had black tiles! Comfortable bed though. Breakfast was good but at £7.50 it should be.

Excellent hospitality. All that was required was in place to cater for short business stay; i.e. parking free and available in hotel grounds, iron already in room, Wi-Fi free and password on hand without having to go and ask, breakfast nice and appropriate times. Plus a lovely room with a very comfortable bed.Just exactly what I required for my stay.

Unusual hotel for me I usually stay in large chains but for clean friendly no fuss accommodation, a bit like serviced apartments then its good. If you are happy to let yourself in and out and don't require bar or restaurant just nice room then this is the place.

Last minute booking so was pleased to find somewhere to stay on a rainy night in Wimbledon after the hotel I booked was overbooked. Perfectly nice B&B, everything looked clean, the room comfortable, bed very comfortable. B/F is a bit expensive at 7.95 per head but it was tasty. I would certainly use this B&B again.

We were after a hotel which was well located but with good standards and so were very happy when we had this hotel recommended to us. The room we had was very modern, spacious and comfortable with a high standard of cleanliness which is a big factor for us. We didn't have time to stop for breakfast but would say that was our only regret as the dining room looked very inviting and the breakfast smelled amazing as we were checking out. We'd definitely go back again.

The room i had originally requested (single), was rather small so I asked to change to a double - no problem. The staff (owner and breakfast chef) were most polite and nothing was too much trouble.Would I stay here again - Yes.My only negative point was:I think the water drainage from the bathrooms needs looking at.

Delightful hotel.Lovely room with a lot of attention to detail apart from the curtain. Not sure why on a finishing touch when everything else was perfect there was only one curtain on our window. It was too short and simply didn't fit the window.Strange when the rest of the room was lovely. We didn't have breakfast as that was extra so we chose to breakfast elsewhere.Otherwise, we checked in and checked out again with very pleasant staff. Would have appreciated decent instant coffee in the room but perhaps I am being too harsh. It was, on the whole, fine and I would stay again and recommend to friends.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Clean and modern, we had an Indian-themed room, though would have preferred another room we peaked in which was more contemporary. The breakfast was good for GBP7.50 pp. Only gripe was the water situation. The cold tap in bathroom didn't work and shower only had one temperature, which was HOT, despite a "cold/hot" tap. I did not ask for a discount but would have appreciated being offered one.

Very well maintained modern decor and very clean. Friendly people very good standard for a small B&B Hotel. The room rate is high at £185 for a small double room, and I feel the Breakfast should be included. This was the weekend of the close of London 2012 which could have effected the rate?

My initial impressions were dampened as no one was there to greet us when we arrived. However, the phone contact was able to give us prompt access to the property and we found what we needed easily.Although the room was small, it was well apointed, clean and pleasent. The hotel had made the best of the space available. The biggest plus was the breakfast.A lovely morning room, tasty food and staff that were both attentive and cheerful.Well done here.Overall I would say this was a pleasant experience but did not offer good value for money.

We stayed here for a wedding we were attending in Wimbledon. It was very easy to book online. It was a very lovely place great welcome and fantastic room. The only things we weren't very happy with was the shower was more like a dribble which was disappointing as was one of these large sunflower shower heads also found breakfast a bit pricey for what it was. It was very tasty but was 7.50 for amoung other items half a tomato, one tiny bit of bacon, 3 small sausages and small spoonful of beans all was a bit small for the price. All in all we would recommend this hotel as understand Wimbledon is an expensive place but breakfast was a bit much.

Hi,Firstly, i would say that the hotel was nice and i would consider staying again if i was visiting the local area. Constructive criticism would be that the hot water supply to the rooms needs to be improved, the furniture needs repairing or replacing (stuff in my room looked modern but was poor quality; the doors had fallen off my wardrobe!), and that the televisions need tuning for BBC (I ran back to the hotel to watch The Apprentice, only to find the tv wouldnt receive BBC1!).Staff were friendly although not in attendance later in the evening.Thank you

If I put that aside the bedroom was really nice and well appointed, on site parking a plus (but should have a security camera?). Breakfast was ordered night before and was delivered to my table hot and on time. The owner, Jay, introduced himself which was a nice touch. Conveient location for walking into town

I stayed for three nights with a my sister and three aunts while we were attending a funeral of my cousin. Jay the owner and his staff were extremely helpful and sensitive to our needs. One of my Aunts is quite frail and every effort to accommodate her specific requirements were made. Our rooms were immaculately clean and beautifully presented. Each one decorated in individual themes. We were made to feel that we were staying in someone's home. Breakfast was simple but good quality and well presented. Sandra, the waitress was very friendly and helpful with a happy personality which was very refreshing. The circumstances of our visit were difficult but having such a nice place to stay made all the difference to us. We all would recommend your hotel and would like to revisit again in happier times. Brenda Conway

The clue is in the name ....... this is an elegant boutique hotel that is clean, comfortable and very welcoming. This was our second stay and we would not even consider staying anywhere else. The owner and the staff are always friendly and attentive and the breakfast delicious. A great little find in an excellent location just minutes from the town and the rail network yet quiet and relaxing. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

EVerything was fine however I think the fact that only instant coffee was available at breakfast, particularly when the room folder spoke of 'complimentary filter coffee' spoiled the stay. I can't believe that in 2011 a hotel in London could not offer what is normal everywhere. I am sure it is only an economic decision and I think therefore just stingy.

My overall impression of the hotel is very positive. It's conveniently located for what we needed. Jay was most welcoming and accommodating. The rate charged was in line with what was offered; though the rooms felt a bit on the small side overall (either big room, small bathroom, small wardrobe or small room, bigger wardrobe, bigger bathroom). It's nicely decorated throughout and clean. The breakfast was nice though quatities on the small side (1 bacon rasher, and small portion of scrambled eggs, ditto for yoghurt). What is missing is a mini bar/fridge...Would def stay again.

We had a lovely 2-night stay at The Wimbledon Hotel, clean, close to the tube, friendly manager and very affordable.A bit of a walk up the stairs with heavy luggage but that was the only negative aspect of our stay and not a "biggy".
Reviewer: Paula B | Sun 16th Oct 2011 | 13 years ago
This was my third stay, each time in a different room. The rooms are full of character and are clean. The breakfast dining area is very airy, light and welcoming. The fruit salads are always a treat. An area for improvement would be bedside lighting. Reading a book in the semi gloom is disappointing. Each room has the same poor bedside lighting.£100 seems high. I shall look for alternatives before booking next time.

Dear Mr KayThank you for giving a review. We shall take this review on board and shall assess the rooms in due course and see how we can improve a experience for an occupant. Sorry to hear that you have had a disappointing experience. Should you decide to stay with us again we will try to accommodate and fulfil your hotel experience.RegardsThe Wimbledon Hotel.

My husband and I stayed at The Wimbledon Hotel last week and I have to say I was more pleasantly suprised at how conveniently located it was to wimbledon town centre and the village. The room was gorgeous and the decor excellent and original in every room (owner was kind enough to give us a bit of a guided tour!) It was very clean, well laid out, you had all the mod cons, flat screen TV, internet etc.To top it off the bed was REALLY comfortable which sadly made it rather hard to get up the following morning! For £90 for a double room with en suite I think it was value for money and I would definately stay there again next time.I would happily recommend this hotel to even the fusiest of people as I found it very hard to find fault with the rooms or the service.

We had a wonderful stay at the Wimbledon Hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. It was a little noisy on weekdays with traffic and school kids on the main street but better on weekends. It is convenient for bus transportation or walking to Wimbledon or Raynes Park. The staff is professional and helpful. Breakfast was on the expensive side, but good.

Booked a boutique room, had a lovely stay, comfortable bed, clean. Not quite finished off to a true boutique standard -e.g. light fitting switch was out of the ceiling rose so exposed wires. painting and decorating quite rough. BUT really quirky, lovely breakfast and good night's sleep. If I'm in Wimbledon again I would definitely consider staying here again.

The Wimbledon Hotel is an excellent place to stay, not far from the centre of Wimbledon but far enough to be away from the hussle and bussle of the town centre. The room that I stayed in was perfect for my needs and was comfortable and well laid out. The rest of the hotel (that I saw) was also very tidy and the breakfast was superb. All the staff were helpful and friendly and I would definitely stay there again.

As a big house turned into a hotel I would say that the place gives you all you need and is as good as can be expected. It was a little warm and the window had to be closed due to the busy road. Also the plumbing made some funny noises which were some what disturbing at 7am. Other than that friendly staff, nice rooms with good TV and DVD player and free wifi!!!

The experience was excellent and all of the staff were extremely helpfull. It was our first visit to Wimbledon tennis and we needed local accomadation and for most this is ideal. It is a little walk away from Wimbledon centre and train station but it is a leisurely 5 minute stroll. Slightly more energy sapping to go to Wimbledon village but not ridiculous. Overall fine stay and all the staff were obliging and courteous. Many thanks for your efforts.Shower cubicle could have been larger this would help, sorry forgot to mention that earlier.

Fresh decor, very calming, bed really comfortable.Ensuite clean.Perfect for visitors who are going to be out most of the day and just want a good sleep and shower in the morning.Breakfast excellent, although would have liked real coffee.Only negative would have to be the noisy pump, presumably water pump, as guests had morning showers although even that didn't take away from the relaxing nights sleep.Unobtrusive but lovely hosts.Walking distance to Wimbledon town centre and Wimbledon village (10 mins)

I stayed at the hotel on the eve of my wedding with my bridal party. It was a most enjoyable experience, on what was a very hectic evening and morning! Unfortunately I had booked the wrong night and Jay was extremely accomodating in ensuring spare rooms were made up, and essentially averting what could have been a disaster! So I am extremely grateful for that. My only critisism would be that I think the breakfast should have been included in the price of the overnight stay, as it was a little expensive overall. But generally I had a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend staying there.

We we in Wimbledon for an interview and wewere allowed to keep food in the fridge, come back and get changed after we checked out ready for our interview as well as leave bags in reception so that we wouldn't have to drag them around. Our room was beautifully furnished, i loved the thai style decor. We also asked for restaurant recommendations which we were given and had a lovely meal then came back and had a lovely nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was served promptly and filled us both up ready for our interview. I only wish we could have stayed longer but i thoroughly recommend The Wimbledon Hotel.

The room was clean, recently updated and an excellent power shower. Centre of Wimbledon is 10 minute walk at most. Would recommend.

I was a bit disappointed by the hall and stairways but as these were being re-decorated that was only to be expected. The room was comfortable, well appointed, and a good temperature. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom clean.Breakfast (Cereal, fruit & yoghurt) was good apart from the crossiant which was heated in the microwave which I heard ping just before it was brought out to me.Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is my home away from home. Hotel is nicely situated in a residential area, with a 10 mins walk to Wimbledon's station, centre, the Village and the Common.Plenty of Restaurants and Pubs nearby. Rooms are clean and comfortable and reasonably priced.

We stayed one night when attending a social event in Wimbledon in February. Refurbishment works were going on at the time, and the internal common areas were still smelling of paint and had not been completed. However, our room was very comfortable. There was plenty of space, the decor was tasteful, and everthing was very clean. The central heating worked perfectly and there was lashings of hot water. Also, there was a nice large flat TV screen on which we were able to see England beat France at Twickenham. The breakfast was definitely worth the modest additional cost. I had a cooked breakfast, and my wife had the Continental. The choice was not huge, but everything was freshly prepared and tasted jolly good. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We would happily stay there again. Would have given 5 stars but for the refurbishment going on.

I stopped in the single room as the only one available. Clean and tidy (if compact) and everything worked well. Very welcoming.Didn't try breakfast so can't comment on food.

A comfortable and welcoming hotel.Although my room was quite small it was well equipped, very clean, comfortable and quite. There was adequate parking which is always difficult anywhere in London these days.Excellent value for money.

Very pleasant indeed. A warm welcome, a warm room (The Moroccan)and a fabulous shower. Didn't have breakfast either morning, so cannot comment. Plan to stay again, to visit family nearby.Only 4 Stars because breakfast not sampled.

Essentially a small townhouse hotel, small rooms, above average decor and fittings, clean and comfortable, but slightly over-priced. Chosen for convenience of location more than anything.Would stay again.

From booking to departure was excellent, the rooms were comfortable and clean. The Hotel is only 10 mins from Wimbledon Station and with only a 17 minute train ride to Waterloo it makes a great location when visiting the city.Top marks,we will be recommending the Wimbledon Hotel to our friends

This is a small, friendly hotel.Whilst the decor could be updated, the rooms are clean, tidy and welcoming. As a business traveller, I welcome the quiet environment.

Stayed in the hotel for two nights in late november. The room was reasonably clean and well appointed. Breakfast was not offered as the kitchen was out of use. The communial areas of the hotel look as they desperately need some refurbishment. Not a bad stay.

I thought the hotel was better than average in terms of decor and standard of the room. But as a business traveller although there was broadband, there was nowhere to work in the room, and the fruit I had for breakfast appeared to have been left out overnight as it was dried up.
